I need story in my games, and it does just enough to give me good motivation through the entire campaign. The story is mostly just some dude telling you to rob this new house, and each time there is voice narration and usually each mission introduces a new challenge that you either need to figure out or buy a new gadget to accomplish. There is a story there, and it is very fun and pushes you to do more and more fun activities. I have zero interest in playing the pancake version, cuz it doesn't have these kind of VR mechanics.Īnd damn, they got the whole driving mechanic in there, it is so fun driving a car with you physically pulling the reverse/drive stick, cruising around and looking for homes to rob. I just love the physical way you pull open the door with one hand, then pull the giant ass TV through the door carefully. My absolutely favorite thing is using my two hands to haul some giant ass 50 inch TV out some poor sap's home. You can physically open tumblers in locks, climb over things, open cabinet doors, find loot and physically put it in your backpack. I love LOVE all the interactions you can do. This is the whole damn game, the entire pancake Thief simulator game, converted into VR. I found another controller layout by the community, and it helped somewhat, so it doesn't impact gameplay anymore.Īnd yeah, the physics are hella weird sometimes, and it doesn't have the smoothness of a game like HLA.Īnd you will keep accidentally grab your crowbar when you wanna grab something else in the environment.īut damn, once you get through the janky feeling, this game is spectacular. Second of the jank: my hands are permanently stuck in a semi-fist position, making it difficult to interact with things that require me to open my fist/point with index finger. It crashes like every 30 minutes, although thankfully it never crashes in the middle of the mission it usually crashes during the end or beginning of a mission, and it politely saves the game before crashing, so the crashes never erases my progress. I played this with Oculus Pro over airlink on a 4090.įirst, I think a lot of you have justified preconception that this is just some old janky game that isn't that fun. Schedule an AMA!
